Exploring the garden

,,, whether searching for ‘mini beasts’ or having afternoon tea in the garden under the shelter, we do like to make the most of our wonderful outdoor space. We are particularly delighted to make use of our mud kitchen where the children make excellent mud pies and chocolate milkshakes with very interesting ingredients!

New resources

... we were successful in applying for some Grant Funding to enhance the resources we provide for our children, in particular our two year olds. The children have really enjoyed exploring our new dark den with little torches, making music with our new instruments, dancing with our new ribbons and building with our new blocks. We are very fortunate as we still have money to spend so the children have been helping us to decide what we should buy by looking through our equipment catalogues.

Chick Hatching Kit

... following some successful fundraising events, we purchased a chick hatching kit. The children were mesmerised as the tiny little chicks broke their way out of their eggs! The children named all 5 of the chicks and drew pictures of them. They also handled them when it was time for them to come out of their cage to play. It was very sad when we waved goodbye to them and they returned to the farm to live as free-range chickens..

Ofsted

We were last inspected by Ofsted in November 2017 and we were awarded a ‘Good’ in all areas.

It was recognised that children make good progress in their learning and development and that we support children who have special educational needs (SEN) and/or disabilities well. The inspector felt we work well with parents and could see that we keep parents fully informed about their child’s learning and development.

You can view the full report and get further information on the full inspection process from the Ofsted website, to view click here.
