Newsletter: Autumn Term 2025

📰 What did we get up to last term?

We had an action-packed summer term full of fun, laughter, and special moments – here is a look back at everything we got up to!

🎉 Our Summer Fun Day was a brilliant success! With stalls, games, and sunshine, we raised over £1,000 – a huge thank you to everyone who joined us! The money has already gone towards enhancing our sensory environments, helping us create even more engaging spaces for the children.

🧸 We waved a fond farewell to our school leavers with a Teddy Bears' Picnic – a magical afternoon filled with cuddly friends, delicious treats, and lots of giggles. It was such a special way to mark this big milestone!

💛 Over the term, we have continued to build our bond with the local care home through regular visits. The children have been amazing – sharing stories, singing songs, and spreading joy to the residents. These moments mean so much to everyone involved and are a highlight for all.

❓ We are already looking ahead to our next exciting event – a Quiz Night for grown-ups! Keep your eyes peeled for the date – it is coming soon and promises to be lots of fun!

🎄 And after lots of requests, we are delighted to announce that our Christmas Fair will be held on Saturday 1st November! There will be festive stalls, games, treats, and plenty of Christmas cheer – we cannot wait to celebrate with you all!

🌟 Ongoing Improvements at Windmill

We’re always working hard to make Windmill the very best it can be, and last term saw some wonderful updates:

🎨 We’ve started repainting the nursery – several areas are already looking fresh and bright, with more to come very soon.

🌿 The garden has had a summer spruce-up! We’re focusing on transforming the mud kitchen area into an even more exciting space for messy, imaginative play.

🌱 And not only that – the front garden is getting some love too! Vicki has started planting a herb garden, giving the children the chance to explore smells, textures, and even taste fresh herbs they’ve helped grow themselves. We can’t wait to see it bloom!

Thank you as always for your support – we can’t wait to see what the next term brings! 💫

👋 Staffing Updates

We’re excited to welcome some new faces to the Windmill family!

🦒 Freya has joined us as the new Preschool Room Leader in the Giraffe Room. She brings a wealth of experience in early years and a passion for supporting children as they prepare for school. Her creativity, calm nature, and focus on learning through play are already making a big impact!

🌟 Luca has also joined the Giraffe Room as a practitioner. With a fun, friendly approach and a real enthusiasm for early education, Luca has settled in brilliantly and is already building lovely relationships with the children.

We’re so happy to have both Freya and Luca on board and can’t wait to see everything they bring to our team!

🎯 Fundraising Goals – Let’s Reach £1,000 Together!

As a not-for-profit nursery, every penny raised goes straight back into improving our environment and facilities for the children. Our next fundraising events will focus on reaching a target of £1,000, which will go toward enhancing our learning spaces and continuing building improvements.

We believe in being open about where your generous donations are going – whether it’s refreshing rooms, updating resources, or improving outdoor play areas, your support makes a big difference.

Thank you for always showing up, donating, and helping us build the best space possible for your little ones 💛

📅 Don’t Forget…

Here are some important upcoming dates for your diary:

• ❌ The nursery will be closed on Monday 25th August (Bank Holiday).

• 🎄 Our last day open before Christmas will be Tuesday 23rd December.

• 🎉 We will reopen on Monday 5th January after the festive break.

✨ Just a reminder: you’re entitled to a set number of days each year at a discounted holiday rate – perfect if you have any family plans coming up! Feel free to pop into the office or give us a call to find out more.

💷 You will be refunded for any sessions that fall on nursery closure dates.

💸 From September 2025, all eligible children will be able to claim 30 hours of funded childcare from the term after they turn 9 months old. If you would like to discuss your child’s sessions or funding options, please speak to a member of the team.
