Nursery Fees

Information

• 1-6 session Monkeys and Pandas- £9.85 an hour.

• 1-6 session Giraffes- £9.65 an hour.

Discounts

• 10% sibling discount for older child

• 10% discount on full time place (Mon-Fri, 8am-6pm)

• 25% staff discount

Deposit - £100 holding fee and £50 admin fee (per child)

This fee is charged when a child registers with the nursery. We will hold the child’s place for 4 weeks from the proposed start date. If the place is taken up within this time, the fee is refunded when the child leaves the nursery or when the child starts if they are a younger sibling of an existing child. If the start date is deferred by more than 4 weeks from the initial agreed start date, the holding fee will be retained by the nursery. Please note that if your child starts with us and withdraws within the first 8 weeks, the deposit paid at the time of enrolment will be non-refundable. The deposit can be paid by bank transfer, please ask the office for the bank account details

Use of Funded Hours and Pattern of Delivery

Funded hours can be taken continuously across the day without any artificial breaks. Families attending full days are able to use their funded hours across the full session where available.

Funded hours may be used within the nursery opening hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm. Funding can be applied to:

• Morning sessions

• Short days

• Full days

Where funding does not fully cover the booked session, additional hours will be charged at the nursery’s standard hourly rate.

Meals and Additional Charges for Families Using Early Years Funding

Windmill Day Nursery provides freshly prepared meals for children each day. While meals are included within our standard fee structure for non-funded sessions, meal charges are separate from Early Years Funded hours and are optional for families accessing funding.

We charge only for breakfast and lunch. There is no charge for tea.

Meal charges are per meal and age-banded to reflect portion size, preparation requirements and food provision costs as follows:

Breakfast Charge (per meal 8am - 6pm/8am - 1pm):

• Babies: £9.97

• Toddlers: £9.85

• Preschool: £9.65

Breakfast Charge (per meal 8:30am - 3:30pm):

• Babies: £5.43

• Toddlers: £5.43

• Preschool: £5.43

Lunch Charge (per meal 8am - 6pm/8am - 1pm):

• Babies: £9.97

• Toddlers: £9.85

• Preschool: £9.65

Lunch Charge (per meal 8:30am - 3:30pm):

• Babies: £10.86

• Toddlers: £10.86

• Preschool: £10.86

These charges are clearly itemised separately on all invoices and on the nursery website, in line with statutory guidance effective January 2026.

Families accessing Early Years Funding may choose one of the following options:

• Pay the nursery meal charges

• Provide their own packed breakfast and or lunch

• Opt-out of all meals

No child will be excluded from their funded hours if families choose not to purchase nursery meals.

Packed food provided from home must meet the nursery’s Healthy Eating and Food Safety Policies. For allergy and safety reasons, nuts are not permitted and food requiring reheating cannot be accepted. All food must be clearly labelled.
