Our aim is always that all staff will hold an up-to-date certificate in

  • Paediatric First Aid
  • Child Protection Training
  • Food Hygiene 

We continuously support professional development for the entire team, either as individuals or as a group, and continue to remain as a degree led nursery.

Whole-team training events have been organised for staff in Promoting Positive Behaviour and Marvellous Maths. Other courses recently attended and/or planned include: –

  • Sustained Shared Thinking
  • Learning Through Landscapes Outdoor training
  • Bucket-time aka Attention Autism

Georgia has recently joined the Windmill family. She has been in childcare for 8 years, achieving her qualifications on the job. Georgia has a passion for making sure every child feels heard and included, making sure their needs are met. Her favourite things are thinking of out of the box activity ideas, incorporating natural materials into play, and engaging in inventive roleplay ideas. Georgia strives to provide high-quality care and learning opportunities for children in innovative and creative ways, in a stimulating and enabling environment.

Farzana

Deputy Manager and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

Level 3 in Childcare and Education


Farzana has been working at windmill since 2016, starting here on placement then working her way up to Deputy Manager. She is passionate about children's learning and development and really enjoys watching the journey the children go on at our nursery, when starting in the baby room and making their way through to preschool room. She says it is always such a proud moment seeing children go off to school knowing they are fully prepared for their next stage of their life and having that impact.

Jodi has been in childcare for 10 years. The reason she loves working with children is because every day is different and she likes the opportunity to have an impact on the lives of children in her care. Jodi loves being creative with the children, and is fantastic at supporting their emotional needs.

Ellie has over a decade’s experience within childcare and joined us in 2014. She loves working with children as she finds it really rewarding watching them grow and flourish every day. She thinks it’s a real privilege to know that you’ve made a positive impact on the children’s learning and development. She also thinks she has the best job as she comes to work to play, have fun and get messy!

Kim has been working with us since 2010 and she loves the homely environment at Windmill. Windmill is her second family. She loves the fun, supportive, and homely environment. She loves coming to work and seeing the children grow, develop, and be happy. Kim says there is nothing better than making a child smile!

Joseph

Nursery Practitioner

Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner


Joseph has worked at Windmill since he was 16 years old, and has worked from being a student to being a Level 2 practitioner. He is now working towards his Level 3. He finds it really rewarding watching the children learn and grow, Windmill feels so homely, he loves coming to work knowing that every day is different. We love getting messy and have lots of fun, it's the best job!

Vicki

Nursery Assistant


Vicki has forty years experience working with children in both nurseries and in home settings, and in that time has seen lots of changes in childcare, but she is still learning new things everyday. She has three grown up children and enjoy gardening, baking, and reading in my spare time .

Jade says that Windmill is a very supportive workplace and she feels valued by all the lovely staff. Jade loves working with children as it gives her the opportunity to give them the best possible start in their education and she enjoys seeing the children’s personalities blossom!

All staff abide by Ofsted requirements in respect of enhanced disclosure checks with the Disclosure and Barring Service and they have the relevant qualifications for their posts.
